If you arrive by plane, we recommend to fly to Munich and arrive before lunch. The transfer to Austria takes about 2.5 - 3 hours by airport taxi, Flixbus or train. You will have dinner and spend the night in the hotel Hohe Burg in Trins, our cozy hiking basecamp for the week.
Alternatively, we recommend the airport of Innsbruck, to take the car or of course the climate-neutral and comfortable option by train to Steinach station (only 5km awaym from the hotel).
Depending on the arrival time at the hotel, a first hike around the mountaineering village of Trins is to reccommend. Before that we would like, however, to clarify our program, the area, the map details and the app as well as any open questions with you in person. We can also coordinate the order of the tours according to the current weather report.
Then it´s time to go for the Sarnthein waterfall, cross the lush forests of the municipality of Trins, and then complete the first round of hiking along the Gschnitzbach stream it´s crystal-clear waters back to the hotel.
The valley is known for its numerous mountain huts and the Stubaier Höhenweg, but also for the enormous biodiversity of the alpine flora. In this region live many ibex and golden eagles. 90% of the municipality are nature reserves. The village of Trins has about 1,300 inhabitants and offers a supermarket right next door, a few restaurants and lots of nature.
The Hohe Burg is a very cozy, clean hotel with modernized wooden rooms, a sauna, a relaxation room and common meeting areas. Christian, our host, is very concerned about the details and the satisfaction of the guests and also a great chef.
