Day 4

Peak of Kraxentrager

After breakfast at the hotel, we travel 20 minutes with the minibus towards east direction. From the hidden valley of Vals we will begin our climb, passing waterfalls, alpine pastures and great views to the Zillertal peaks. For those who still have ambition  to continue for the 2.999 m high Kraxentrager peak after reaching the Europahütte, our stay for the night, feel free to join.

The Europahütte hut, is majestically situated on a ridge where we will have dinner with a great view. It is located at 2693m of hight and is perfectly placed exactly on the border line of Italy and Austria. It is said that the kitchen is in Italy and the rooms in Austria. The bedroom is communal, but you can request separate rooms for two to four people. 

For sleeping we will need our individual sheet that we will have to bring. The next day after breakfast in the cabin we will continue our trip on the border hopping between Italy and Austria, on old military trekks.
